Former LSU RB Derrius Guice slipped into the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft after concerns about his character surfaced on draft night.

However, since selecting him, the Washington Redskins have had nothing but nice things to say about the star running back.

According to fellow RB Chris Thompson, Guice is happy and hyper all the time and endearing himself to his new teammates (via Redskins.com):

“After being around him now for a while, he’s just a young 20-year old that’s just enjoying the game and enjoying life,” Thompson said. “You can’t knock a guy for being so happy after he went through all the stuff that he’s been through. He’s just happy and super hyper all the time…It’s been good having him here and I’m glad we got him here. He’s a great kid.”

Guice will need to keep working hard to prove his doubters wrong on the field, but he’s doing a great job in the NFL so far.

He’s also making a lot of new fans through community outreach, so it’s safe to say there will be a few Guice jerseys in the stands this fall.
