LSU coach Ed Orgeron likes what he has seen so far from the talented Tiger freshman football players.

According to 247 Sports, LSU had the 7th best recruiting class in the nation, which includes 14 4-stars that were a part of the 2017 recruiting class.

Coach Orgeron talked with Emily Dixon of LSUsports.net about a number of football topics with fall camp well under way in Baton Rouge. It didn’t take long before Coach O expressed his enthusiasm regarding the program’s talented freshman.

“The thing that’s helped us is Austin Deculus, Saahdiq Charles and Ed Ingram, three young freshman, are pretty good,” Orgeron said. “They are play like first teamers.”

The young players on the offensive line were not the only ones to get a compliment from coach Orgeron. He was pleased with some of the guys at the wide receiver position.

“Justin Jefferson is going to be a wonderful player for us,” he said. “He’s a great route runner.”

For coach Orgeron, it’s sometimes hard to narrow his excitement just for a couple of players. He let them know what the 2017 class means to him.

“This is my favorite freshman class that I’ve ever had,” he said.
