WATCH: LSU K Cole Tracy's family shows raw emotion watching game-winning kick live
The only people who have a more nerve-racking time watching a football game than placekickers, are those related to the kicker.
That was on perfect display Saturday afternoon with a group of LSU faithful, and relatives of Cole Tracy, gathered around the television to witness the end of the LSU-Auburn game, a 22-21 win at the buzzer.
With a combination of nervous encouragement and hope, the relatives can be heard in the background saying, “Let’s go Cole.” And as the ball sailed through the uprights, they shared a combination of excitement and relief as the celebrations began.
And in a response only a father could appreciate, Tracy’s dad, Kent, said simply, “He did it!”
For his part, Tracy was understandably excited as he retweeted a couple pictures of him celebrating on the field with teammates while waving an LSU flag.
Make no mistake about it, that 42-yard kick will be one he won’t soon forget.
