Despite what ESPN college football analyst Booger McFarland would have you believe, not all coaches read the paper.
That was one point LSU’s new offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger wanted to make clear during his introductory press conference Thursday. He doesn’t read the paper, hasn’t in 20 years, and he doesn’t do social media. He even tells his family not to fool with any of that.
His story checks out, too. Ensminger has not tweeted since September of 2016.
Here’s the hilarious exchange the LSU coordinator had with the local media Thursday afternoon. He even took the opportunity to mention McFarland by name during the presser. The following video was posted by Jacques Doucet on Twitter.

Steve is a great guy, great tiger, and extremely motivated at whatever position you put him at.
That being said, he’s not a good choice at OC when Special Ed’s plan was to “bring in the best coordinators.” This position is setting him up to fail.
At the end of this s***-show, Steve Ensminger will be shown the door and he deserves much better than that.
I don’t think he will do any worse than Canada did. He had to run Cameron’s system when he took over before. I know a lot of people don’t like it, but I am coming around on this hire.
Yeah, but “not doing worse than Canada did” isn’t an improvement. With the talent we have we should be an elite program, and we should be bringing in a better coaching staff if we don’t want to continue our slide into mediocrity.
The last decade of LSU offense has been the only thing preventing us from being a top 5 program. SE isn’t going to help – it’s going to be more of the same.
