Former LSU star Odell Beckham Jr. has kept in touch with the football program even after he’s developed into a star in the NFL with the New York Giants.
This week, he sent the current players each a pair of new Nike shoes he helped develop.
The LSU football Twitter account shared the reveal this way: “Thanksgiving is about family. Odell remembers his in Purple and Gold! Forever LSU!”
“I sent y’all boys some shoes,” he said on a video played during a team meeting. “I recently did some things for Nike, dropped a little shoe. It’s not the signatures, it’s just the first to come out right now.”
The reveal by coach Ed Orgeron drew a reaction from the players as the video showed them opening the LSU gold Nike shoes.
The Tigers are set to kick off against Texas A&M Saturday night and this should add a boost as they look to improve on their 8-3 start.
