Brian Kelly capped of LSU’s season with a win over Texas A&M Saturday.
It was a slow start for the Tigers, but they pulled away in the 4th quarter and won 42-30. After the game, Kelly praised his team for holding strong and pulling out a win in the second half.
“We’re not perfect, especially on defense, but im proud of their resolve and that showed in the second half,” Kelly said in his postgame press conference.
It was another huge game for Jayden Daniels. The quarterback couldn’t get much going in the first half, but he ended up leading the Tigers to a win behind his 235 passing yards, 120 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns.
“You may get Jayden for a little bit, but you just can’t keep him down,” Kelly said.
His favorite target was Malik Nabers, who has been outstanding this season and is making a strong case for the Biletnikoff Award. He had 122 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns on Saturday.
“It’s a natural progression within this program that players are going to develop and when it’s time for them to move to that next level you’re going to see player development here,” Kelly said.
The win marked a perfect season at home for LSU. The Tigers are 13-1 at Tigers Stadium over the last 2 seasons.
“7-0 at home. We’re really proud of that accomplishment,” Kelly said. “Winning at home in Tiger Stadium is important to us.”
