Head coach Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers did not have the game they were hoping for against the defending national champions, Georgia. The Tigers fell 50-30 in a game that never felt very close.

Kelly brought up the point a couple times that Georgia was simply the better team Saturday afternoon in Atlanta. Still, as he said, you have to bring your all against the No. 1 team in the country if you want to walk out with a win.

LSU got some good play from backup quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, too. Starter Jayden Daniels was obviously not 100% and had to leave just after halftime. Nussmeier came in and threw for 294 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception.

Kelly addressed why Daniels left postgame.

Kelly also addressed some obvious errors the Tigers made throughout the night, including a blocked field goal that was returned for a touchdown. He took full responsibility for the misplay, saying he and the coaching staff has to prepare the players to be more alert in those situations.

Here are more of Kelly’s comments from his postgame press conference.
