Former LSU men’s basketball head coach Will Wade is reportedly close to finding his next landing spot.

According to a report from Sheldon Mickles of The Advocate, Wade is expected to become the new face of the McNeese program. The move comes shortly after McNeese ended its season with a loss to Texas A&M – Corpus Christi in the semifinals of the Southland Conference tournament Tuesday night.

Head coach John Aiken was fired afterward by athletic director Heath Schroyer, who bears connection to Wade from earlier in his career, after Aiken posted a 22-45 overall record with the program over the past two seasons.

How Wade fares in Louisiana on the court for different team after he was fired with cause by LSU on March 12, 2022 will be something to keep an eye on.

Over nine seasons as a Division 1 head coach, Wade posts an overall record of 196-96 record and a winning percentage of .673.
