Former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow made his return back to practice with the Cincinnati Bengals this week and he seems to be on the right track after undergoing an appendectomy recently.

“He did some individual, he did some 7-on-7, so that’s a good step in the right direction,” coach Zac Taylor said. “It was a good start today… I know he’s feeling better every single day and we’ve got a plan to start to ease him back into practice and this was phase one of that.”

Burrow was seen carrying his jersey and his helmet after the walk-through, so it’s been taken as that he’s participated to some degree and that he should only get more involved as the Bengals approach the season-opener.

Taylor added that Burrow has kept himself in shape, and got better in the last week.

Burrow is poised to be one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks after leading his team to a Super Bowl appearance in just his second season after he suffered a severe knee injury. Burrow continued to build upon an already solid foundation last season, completing 70.4% of his passes for 4,611 passing yards with 34 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in the regular season.
