DeeJay Dallas made some NFL history on Sunday during the Arizona Cardinals’ Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills.
The NFL has enacted a new dynamic kickoff rule — derived designed to improve player safety and potentially generate more returns. During Thursday and Friday night’s season-opening games, touchbacks seemed to be in full supply, and outside of a long return on Sunday, the same seemed to be holding true on the first day of full action.
That changed, though, courtesy of Dallas, with the Cardinals opeing the season on the road in Western New York. The former Miami running back showcased his speed to take a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, cutting the Bills’ lead to 31-28 after a successful 2-point try.
Take a look at Dallas’s return below:

The Cardinals had a 17-3 lead during the 2nd half, but the Bills eventually stormed back to take a 31-20 lead. Dallas’s return, though, has put Arizona back in striking distance as it looks to improve to 1-0 on the season.
