Miami lands transfer pledge from former TCU starter on the offensive line
Miami ended the 2024 season in miserable fashion, but as the Hurricanes turned the calendar to 2025 they got some great news regarding their offensive line. Former TCU center James Brockermeyer committed to the Canes on Friday, according to an On3 report.
The 6-foot-3, 295-pounder started 12 games this season for TCU before entering the transfer portal. Brockermeyer played at Alabama before his time at TCU, with the Fort Worth native coming home to play for the Horned Frogs before bolting for greener pastures again. The junior will have 1 year of eligibility remaining, and he’ll spend it at Miami.
Brockermeyer chose to play for the Hurricanes next fall over offers from Florida State and USC. The son of former NFL offensive lineman Blake Brockermeyer is the first offensive lineman that Miami has added in the transfer portal this offseason.
Brockermeyer transferred to TCU before the 2024 season, so next fall he’ll be playing for his third school in 3 years. He began his collegiate career at Alabama after being rated a 4-star prospect, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. Brockermeyer played 3 seasons for the Crimson Tide but got limited action, playing only 38 snaps combined.
That fueled his transfer to TCU a year ago, and now he’s heading to the ACC.
