Rutgers nearly shocked Michigan at home on Saturday night, but fell to the Wolverines 48-42 in overtime.

Michigan backup quarterback Cade McNamara gave his team a chance in relief of Joe Milton. McNamara completed 27-of-36 passes for 260 yards and four touchdowns off the bench.

Down by eight with under a minute to go in regulation, Rutgers found the end zone. Then, quarterback Noah Vedral converted the 2-point conversion to send it to overtime.

Michigan and Rutgers exchanged missed field goals and touchdowns on the first two possessions of overtime. In the third OT, the Wolverines scored and were able to force and 3-and-out by Rutgers to secure the win.

Michigan fans sounded off on their frustration with their head coach throughout the game and during the overtime periods.
