Mississippi State’s recent hot streak on the recruiting trails continues with another new commitment.

On Thursday, four-star weak-side defensive end De’Montre Russell out of Provine in Jackson, Miss. announced he was staying in state to play for the Bulldogs. He is the fifth commitment for Joe Moorhead and company in the past nine days and MSU’s eight commitment for the 2019 class. On Wednesday, Mississippi State added four-star DE Ani Izuchukwu to the class.

Russell, who committed during an unofficial visit with family according to Gene’s Page, made his pledge official on Twitter.  Rated the No. 13 recruit at his position and No. 12 in the state of Mississippi, Russell also had offers from Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
