Having proficient special teams play is the hallmark of any successful college football program.
Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen recognizes this fact. As such, he heavily pursued Army All-American punter Tucker Day.
Day liked what Mullen had to say — as he committed to MSU on Sunday:
I'm really excited and blessed to say that I have committed to play football at Mississippi State! @HailStateFB ? ? pic.twitter.com/c5OhE1uUba

Day is a native of Tennessee. He opted for the Bulldogs over offers from Colorado State, Rutgers, Navy, Army, and Illinois.
He became the 22nd commitment within MSU’s 2017 recruiting class.
