Ben Howland updates status of suspended Mississippi State G Nick Weatherspoon
Talented Mississippi State G Nick Weatherspoon was suspended by the Bulldogs back in February for an unspecified reason.
He then missed the rest of the 2018-19 season, but has since apparently been going through the offseason program with his teammates.
On Tuesday, coach Ben Howland addressed the media and said Weatherspoon should be ready when the 2019-20 season tips off:
Meeting with Ben Howland. On Nick Weatherspoon, says he's on the team and practicing. Also asked if Nick would be available for game one when the season tips off, Howland said pretty emphatically we sure hope so. Seems like everything there is now settled.

That will be a big boost for the Bulldogs, as Weatherspoon averaged 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 24 games (23 starts) before his suspension.
Weatherspoon’s older brother, Quinndary, was a second-round pick by the San Antonio Spurs in last week’s draft. Now, Nick will try to improve his draft stock as a rising junior.
