Mississippi State blew a 9th-inning lead against Ole Miss Saturday evening. Fortunately, the Bulldogs were able to regroup and take the game in extras for a series win over the Rebels.

With one out in the 9th inning, Jacob Gonzalez blasted a 2-run HR for Ole Miss to make it 6-all. The Rebels climbed all the way back from a 6-2 deficit early on to tie the game and force extra-innings.

Both sides remained scoreless in the 10th inning but it was Mississippi State breaking through in the 11th. A solo shot by Brad Cumbest to left field put the Bulldogs on top 7-6.

KC Hunt finished off the game with a scoreless 11th inning and finished with 2.2 scoreless innings for the win. With the win, Mississippi State takes the weekend series 2 games to 1 and has won back-to-back SEC series since getting swept by LSU.
