Dak Prescott wants to get back for the Dallas Cowboys. In fact, the former Mississippi State quarterback is so eager to get back to football that he believes his timetable is within weeks — and he’s including this week in that prognosis.

Ahead of Monday Night Football’s game between the Cowboys and New York Giants, ESPN’s Lisa Salters asked Prescott how his recovery was coming along.

“He was going to go talk to the doctor right after [their conversation] and hopefully get the green light to start gripping and throwing the football again,” Salters reported.

And as far as the timeline for getting back on the field for Dallas?

“He said, ‘A couple of weeks, and I’m counting this as one of them’ ” Salters said.

Prescott, who played at Mississippi State from 2012 to 2015, could even be looking at Dallas’ Week 4 matchup with the Washington Commanders as a return date.

In fact, Salters asked him about next weekend straight-up.

“He isn’t ruling anything out,” she reported.
