Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys have had a nightmare season so far. Entering NFL Week 9, the team was sitting at 3-4 and had lost 2 games in a row.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, the team suffered more bad news on Sunday. With the team trailing 27-13 to the Atlanta Falcons, Prescott suffered a hamstring injury and had to leave the game. The QB was unable to return, and the Cowboys suffered a 27-21 loss.

It was unusual how Prescott suffered the injury. The injury happened as the QB was throwing the football, which is rare for a hamstring injury.

The extent of the injury is unknown, but it was bad enough that the QB was unable to return in a game the Cowboys desperately needed to win.

Cooper Rush came in for Prescott and completed 13 of 25 passes for 115 yards and 1 TD. Rush’s decent relief performance wasn’t enough to get the Cowboys the win, however, as the team suffered their 5th loss of the season.

The Cowboys have a brutal stretch of the schedule coming up, so Prescott missing any time would be a crushing blow. The team plays the Eagles, Texans, Commanders, Giants, and Bengals over the next 5 weeks.

Prescott has thrown for 1,845 yards with 10 TDs and 8 INTs in 2024. The former Mississippi State Bulldog is in his 9th NFL season.
