Saturday was a big day for Mississippi State Bulldogs everywhere. Hail State nation had a lot to celebrate as the Mike Leach era opened with record-breaking passing production in a 44-34 upset of defending national champion LSU in Baton Rouge.

Quarterback KJ Costello broke numerous records passing for 623 yards in his Bulldog debut. One of the school records to fall was the single-game passing mark. The previous MSU record for passing yards in a single game belonged to Dak Prescott, who threw for 508 yards against Arkansas in 2015.

Prescott doesn’t seem to be bothered by seeing his record fall. Like other Bulldogs, he is excited about the big win over the Tigers.

“Let’s Goooooooo. No better way to start the Leach Era,” Prescott tweeted.

Every MSU season passing record looks to be in danger this fall with Costello running Leach’s Air Raid.
