Mississippi State has been without WR Malik Dear so far this season, and it does not look like that will change anytime soon.

Dear, a junior, suffered a torn ACL in spring practice and has been rehabbing in hopes of playing this season. It appears his chances of making an appearance this season are slim, and head coach Dan Mullen announced Monday that Dear will likely redshirt.

Dear has 46 receptions for 490 yards and 4 TDs through two seasons with the Bulldogs. He also has rushed for 234 yards and 2 TDs. The versatile WR was also used by MSU in the return game. Dear has 15 career kickoff returns for 225 yards.

The Bulldogs started off hot but have dropped their last two games by wide margins. Dear may have made a difference in those matchups, but the important thing right now is getting him healthy.
