Last week, Alabama WR Tyrell Shavers announced he was entering the NCAA transfer portal, and it didn’t take him long to find a new home.

Interestingly enough, he will be staying within the SEC West, so he’ll have a couple of opportunities to play his former team.

As you can see below, Shavers took to Twitter on Monday night to announce he had committed to coach Mike Leach and the Mississippi State Bulldogs:

As a graduate transfer, Shavers is eligible immediately and still has 2 years of collegiate eligibility remaining. Last season, Shavers appeared in 12 games for Alabama, mostly on special teams. He had 1 catch for 20 yards and 1 rush for 14 yards.

During the 2017 recruiting cycle, Shavers was the No. 12 wide receiver and the No. 11 overall recruit from the state of Texas, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
