You remember Fred Smoot, right?
The always chatty defensive back, who was known as much for his smack talk as he was his outstanding play, was an All-America player at Mississippi State in 2000 before turning in a successful nine-year stint in the NFL.
Now that he’s retired, the always humorous Smoot has more time to do things like jump on Reddit to do one of their famous “ask me anything” segments.
Here are some of the highlights of what was said in his most recent appearance on Thursday:
On being a part of the infamous Minnesota Vikings sex boat cruise:
Can we please stop asking about the sex boat? That shit was like 10 years ago and it wasn’t even that cool. Stay off of boats kids.
On the possibility of former Tennessee QB Peyton Manning using HGH:
If peyton used hgh it’s like finding out your daddy isn’t your real daddy – but for the whole US
On fixing the issues one of his former teams, the Washington Redskins, have with perception due to their controversial mascot:
Change the name of the Redskins to The Presidents and make the jerseys dollar bill green with a big ol Benjamin on the side of the helmet.
On what he believes the next chapter will be for former Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel:
he gonna have a lot of fun drinking with his friends when he can’t find a place to play anymore.
On going through a coaching regime change:
ever been in school and your teacher leaves for like two weeks or gets fired or something? so you get a new sub and it’s just a disaster? that’s sorta what its like
While he may seem like a crazy character, at least he had some charitable aspirations on his mind during the Reddit appearance:
The first 5 people who prove to me they donated to charity today will get a personalized Smoot smack trash talk call to anyone in their phonebook. I’ll call em up and make em cry for charity people.
