Mississippi State’s depth at receiver looks to be taking a hit as another Bulldogs is reportedly planning to leave the program.

Not long after Javonta Payton made the decision to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal, rising junior receiver Geor’quarius Spivey has made the decision to leave Mike Leach’s program according to Paul Jones of 247Sports.

Spivey is coming off a season in which he made three starts and appeared in 11 games for the Bulldogs. Last season, he caught 11 passes and had 121 receiving yards. Both figures were career highs for Spivey.

2020 (Sophomore Season)
Awards: Earned SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Season: Appeared in all 11 games with three starts.

Vanderbilt (11/7): Drew the start … Made one reception for minus-1 yards. at Georgia (11/21): Caught one pass for six yards. at Ole Miss (11/28): Caught five passes for 97 yards … The five grabs equaled his career total entering the game … Four catches and 92 yards came on the final two drives of the game … Three of his five grabs went for first downs. Auburn (12/12): Made the start … Had three catches for nine yards. Missouri (12/19): Caught one pass for 10 yards in a start.

2019 (Redshirt Freshman Season)
Season: Played in all 13 games with two starts … Finished with three catches for 32 yards.

at No. 7 Auburn (9/28): Made first career catch for 12 yards. Kentucky (9/21): Made his first collegiate start. at Arkansas (11/2): Hauled in one pass for seven yards. vs. Louisville (12/30) Started at tight end … Made one catch for 13 yards.

2018 (True Freshman Season)
Season: Appeared in three contests … Redshirted his initial year with the program.

vs. Stephen F. Austin (9/1): Made collegiate debut.
