Dak Prescott is eventually going to get paid big. Could that be from an imminent contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys?

On Tuesday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked about the status of a potential new deal with Prescott during an appearance on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.” But instead of getting into too much detail about the former Mississippi State quarterback, Jones used the opportunity to stress the most important thing on his mind — winning.

“I think all of us, including the fans, want to win a damn football game, OK?,” Jones said on the show. “Now I know we’ve got a lot of other things to think about. Who’s coaching? Who’s playing? Who’s compared to another player some place else? How about — let’s win some ballgames, folks. We can take care of that other stuff. I’m not known as a guy who gets hand cramps when I’m writing checks, but I want to win some football games.”

Prescott and the Cowboys may be in first place in the NFC East, but they haven’t had the best season so far. They’re 6-5 and have lost five of their last eight games after opening the year with three straight wins.

In his fourth NFL season, Prescott has passed for 3,433 yards, 21 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Prescott and the Cowboys will look to accomplish Jones’ top priority — winning — when they host the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving, with kickoff set for 4:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
