Jo’Quavious Marks has been a great player to watch so far this season. He became the leader in career receptions at Mississippi State on Saturday in Starkville.

The record heading into the game was 200 career receptions. The previous leader was Fred Ross at 199 heading into the LSU game.

It looks like playing in Mike Leach’s air raid offense paid off for Marks. Marks had 250 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns through 2 games heading into Week 3.

Marks has had no problems adjusting to Zach Arnett’s system in year one. With more emphasis on the running game, Marks has been able to shine at Mississippi State so far.

Marks played in 12 games for the Bulldogs last season. However, his career-high in receptions came in 2021 when he had 83 in one season for a running back.

Players who can adapt to the system your running are always a plus, and that’s especially the case with someone like Marks.
