Mississippi State running back Jo’quavious Marks announced Friday he was returning to Mississippi State. That is a different statement than the one that fellow running back Dillon Johnson posted about to enter the transfer portal.

Instead off leaving, Marks will remain in the fold as the head of the Bulldogs rushers.

“Started it and ima finish it 2023,” Marks tweeted.

He finished out the 2022 season with 532 rushing yards for 9 touchdowns on 103 carries. Over the course of his career at Mississippi State, he has tallied 279 carries for 1,260 yards with 18 touchdowns. Johnson was becoming a heavy part of the Bulldogs rushing attack and was sure to be an asset elsewhere.

He and Dillon Johnson were a strong part of the 1-2 punch the program had before Johnson announced his departure.
