Week 12 provided Mississippi State its gimme game after the Bulldogs played the bulk of its SEC schedule as well as NC State and Memphis out of conference. MSU’s 55-10 win over Tennessee State Saturday left Mike Leach without a major takeaway.
In his postgame press conference, Leach complimented second-year quarterback Will Rogers on his improvement. Leach says he is not surprised to see Rogers, who is rewriting the record book, playing better. The mood in Starkville, though, is onto the Egg Bowl. Leach told reporters he’ll probably return to the office later Saturday to get ready for Thursday’s rivalry clash with Ole Miss.

Mike Leach says Will Rogers “unselfishly wanted to keep playing” when he was pulled out of the game, also says he was cheering on Lovertich and the rest of the guys on the sideline.

Mike Leach “I don’t think there’s a huge takeaway. I think it was kind of a tough time to play us and not such a bad time to play them.”
