Mike Leach eager to celebrate in Starkville after MSU's epic comeback win at Auburn to become bowl eligible
Mike Leach is taking Mississippi State to a bowl game again, this time with the Bulldogs earning bowl eligibility the old-fashioned way. In Year 1 under Leach, MSU went to the Armed Forces Bowl despite a 3-7 record in the 2020 season, as bowl games waived eligibility requirements under the COVID circumstances. This time, Leach’s squad is going by winning 6+ games. The Bulldogs picked up win No. 6 on Saturday with an epic comeback at Auburn. After trailing 28-3, MSU won 43-34. With 2 games to go, MSU is now 6-4.
After the game, Leach told reporters he’s excited for his squad to get the extra practices.
