Clay Travis reacts to Mississippi State landing Mike Leach: 'I love this hire'
Just when it looked like Ole Miss was going to steal all the offseason momentum inside the state of Mississippi, Mississippi State turned around and hired a coach with just as much star power and a better track record of leading college football programs to success on the field.
That’s a sentiment shared by Clay Travis of Outkick the Coverage who shared his initial thoughts on Mike Leach’s hire in Starkville on Thursday.
Leach now takes control of a Mississippi State program that’s been to 10 consecutive bowl games and has featured several talented recruiting classes stacked on top of each other for several years.
Talent and coaching certainly won’t be an issue for Mississippi State in the immediate future, now it’s up to Leach to take arguably the most talent he’s ever had on a roster and show the world what he can do with those Bulldog players.
Here is Travis’ thoughts on the hire:
"If you are a Bulldog, you have to be thrilled about this. If you are an Ole Miss fan, your early advantage has been forestalled a bit. I love this hire. I think this will make the Egg Bowl one of the best rivalries in sports." — @ClayTravis on the Mike Leach hire pic.twitter.com/Y44dE0CyMJ
