Mike Leach shouldered plenty of the blame Saturday night following the loss to LSU.
The Mississippi State coach noted that he made poor play calls on fourth downs even though it was the right decision to make. Special teams problems also caused issues for the Bulldogs.
Leach said about fourth down attempts that statistically it was the right call, but “I don’t think I selected very good plays on three of them.”
On the missed extra point, Leach said, “I think I could do it if I practiced for 2 weeks,” and on the muffed punt, Leach said, “Catch the ball — either that or get away from it, one of the 2.”
Overall, Leach said, “I thought we were explosive but inconsistent.”
MSU returns to action next week against Bowling Green.
