Former Mississippi State cornerback Darius Slay was huge in the Detroit Lions’ 24-17 win over the New York Jets on Sunday. Slay recorded five tackles, the most of any MSU alum in the NFL this week, and pulled in his first career interception to help lead the defense in an impressive performance.

Slay returned his interception 40 yards to help swing the field position battle in Detroit’s favor. He now has 18 tackles in four games this season.

Here’s what some other former Bulldogs did around the NFL last week:

  • Johnthan Banks: The former Mississippi State cornerback made two tackles against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their first win of the season on Sunday.
  • Fletcher Cox: The Philadelphia Eagles star defensive end made four tackles in a loss to San Francisco Sunday afternoon. Cox has still yet to record his first sack of the year through four games.
  • Gabe Jackson: Mississippi State’s former Conerly Trophy winner started at guard for the Oakland Raiders for the fourth straight game to begin his NFL career. The Raiders lost to the Miami Dolphins in London to drop to 0-4.
  • Pernell McPhee: The Baltimore Ravens’ defensive end made one tackle in a convincing 38-10 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
  • Deontae Skinner: The former Mississippi State linebacker and current New England Patriot will play on Monday Night Football when the Pats take on the Kansas City Chiefs in an AFC showdown.
  • Chris White: Like Skinner, the former Mississippi State linebacker turned New England Patriot will compete against the Chiefs on Monday Night Football.
