The 2021 season became more difficult for the Mississippi State Bulldogs as senior DE Jordan Davis has a confirmed torn ACL.

He was injured in the Bulldogs’ scrimmage this past weekend and will reportedly miss the entire 2021 season, per Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports:

Last season, Davis accounted for 22 total tackles, 7 solo tackles, and 1 pass breakup in 9 games played.

Davis came into the Bulldogs program as a junior college transfer from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in the spring of 2020. He was a 4-star prospect and fifth-ranked junior college transfer in the 2020 recruiting class by 247Sports.

Davis’ loss will be a tough break for a Bulldogs’ defense that ranked 105th in the nation in passing yards allowed per game (250.2). Mississippi State expects UCF transfer Randy Charlton to take over for Davis as a starting defensive end this season, per Zenitz’s report.
