It didn’t take long for Marquez Dortch to find a new home.

The 4-star 2022 wideout announced on Monday that he had verbally committed to Mississippi State.

Dortch had been an Ole Miss pledge since January and was the program’s 2nd-highest-rated recruit in the class. He de-committed on Sunday, one of 2 players in the Rebels class to do so that day.

For Mississippi State, it’s a huge coup. The 6-foot Dortch plays his high school ball at George County in Lucedale, Mississippi. He’s the No. 5 prospect in the state for the class and a Top247 player in the 247Sports Composite.

He had 32 receptions for 660 yards and 7 touchdowns in 10 games during his senior season, according to The Clarion-Ledger. Dortch also had 207 yards and a touchdown on 5 kick returns.

Rated as the No. 36 wideout in his class, Dortch becomes the 17th known commitment to coach Mike Leach and the Bulldogs. He’s now the highest-rated commit in their class.
