Following Mississippi State’s spring game Saturday, new head coach Joe Moorhead announced the team captains for 2018.

Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald and defensive end Gerri Green were selected by the players.

Fitzgerald, the senior signal caller from Richmond Hill, Georgia, is the unquestioned leader on offense, and he’s recovering this spring from an gruesome ankle injury suffered in the Egg Bowl. He could be ready for a huge season under Coach Moorhead.

Green, the senior defender from Greenville, Mississippi, has recorded 92 career tackles with a full season left. He’ll play crucial role this year for new defensive coordinator Bob Shoop.

The Bulldogs return a ton of talent and experience in 2018, and there’s a strong chance the Bulldogs pull off 10 regular season wins.
