The Mississippi State Bulldogs are preparing for an important season-opening game on Wednesday night.
On Wednesday afternoon, a win on the recruiting trails gave them a little extra pep in their step.
That’s because 3-star 2022 SF Kimani Hamilton, a native of Clifton, Mississippi, announced that he was committing to coach Ben Howland’s program. Hamilton made the announcement during a televised ceremony.
Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Hamilton is the No. 34 overall small forward in the 2022 class and the No. 2 overall recruit from the state of Mississippi.
He chose the Bulldogs over rival Ole Miss and Alabama.
The Bulldogs now have 3 players in their 2022 recruiting class. Prior to Hamilton’s commitment, that class ranked No. 83 in the country and No. 12 in the SEC, per 247Sports. The class went up to No. 46 in the country with Hamilton’s announcement.
