Things got weird late as Mississippi State and LSU played the longest game in SEC Baseball Tournament history
It took 17 innings but Mississippi State earned a big win on Wednesday over LSU in the 2019 SEC Baseball Tournament in what will forever be known as the longest game in the tourney’s history.
The game ended thanks to a walk-off single from MSU’s Gunner Halter in the 17th and sends the Bulldogs to the winner’s bracket heading into Thursday. Mississippi State is now scheduled to play Vanderbilt while LSU will play Auburn in an elimination game.
The game took 6 hours and 43 minutes, which is the new standard for length in conference tournament history.
