Mississippi State recently lost coach Dan Mullen to the Florida Gators, and Mullen is in the process of pulling key assistants and top recruits away from the Bulldogs.

However, one player — 3-star QB commit Jalen Mayden — has turned down the former MSU coach’s efforts to get him to flip his commitment.

The Texas native said he has heard from Mullen, but won’t be considering making a change from his pledge to the Bulldogs, according to a 247Sports article:

Mayden added that he really likes the message new coach Joe Moorhead is sharing with the Bulldog recruits moving forward:

“I talked to Coach Moorhead and I am staying committed,” said Mayden. “He is really cool. He wants to keep everyone on board and said he wasn’t really going after any new guys that were not already being recruited by Mississippi State. He wants me to keep everyone on track and wants me to help him do that.”

Will other MSU commits have the same loyalty Mayden has shown? That remains to be seen, but Moorhead already seems to be a popular guy in Starkville.
