The Egg Bowl rivalry extends well beyond Rivalry Week – it’s 24/7/365.

On Tuesday, MSU running back Kylin Hill used the news of Georgia hiring Matt Luke to troll Ole Miss.

“Lol he won in the long run,” Hill wrote in a quote-tweet of UGA’s tweet announcing the team had hired Luke as its new offensive line coach.

Luke, who played at Ole Miss from 1995-98, was a Rebels coach from 2012-19 as an assistant (2012-16) and then head coach (2017-19). He was fired following the fallout from Ole Miss WR Elijah Moore’s “dog pee” celebration in the Egg Bowl. At Georgia, Luke is replacing former offensive line coach Sam Pittman, now the head coach at Arkansas. Luke coached offensive line from 2000-16 at various stops before becoming the Rebels’ interim and later full-time head coach.

Hill played a big part in MSU’s 21-20 win over Ole Miss in Luke’s final game, rushing the ball 27 times for 132 yards.
