There has been a lot of roster turnover at Mississippi State this year in coach Mike Leach’s first season at the helm of the program.

That turnover continued on Wednesday, when a redshirt sophomore wide receiver announced he was going to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

As you can see below, Cam Gardner took to Twitter to reveal his decision to explore options to continue his career elsewhere:

Gardner appeared in 9 games in 2020, recording 12 catches for 110 yards. He played mostly on special teams in 2019 after redshirting in 2018.

Gardner was a 3-star recruit in the 2018 class. Per the 247Sports composite rankings, he was the No. 214 wide receiver in the 2018 class and the No. 27 overall recruit from the state of Mississippi.
