Mississippi State took to social media to reveal the special field design for the upcoming matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats.

Before the 2023 season began, the Bulldogs unveiled the field designs for each game. For the first 2 home games. the field sported the “State” script in white as the centerpiece. The end zones had “Mississippi State” and “Bulldogs” in white. For games in 3, 5, and 6, the field had the same script logo at midfield, but the end zones were red.

However, the design for Game 9 was kept a surprise — until now.

Against Kentucky, the team will have a block-lettered maroon MSU logo at midfield.

The end zones will also be maroon with white letters.

This will be the first time the Bulldogs have used this field design. The Bulldogs will be hoping that the new design will bring good luck to the team. The team is a disappointing 1-4 in SEC play and 4-4 overall. The team will have to win at least 2 of their last 4 games to become bowl eligible.

The Wildcats are entering Starkville off of a loss to bitter rival Tennessee. The Wildcats are now sitting at 2-3 in SEC play and 5-3 overall.
