Mississippi State head coach Joe Moorhead spent plenty of time this season fending off rumors of his departure from Starkville, which were quelled after an Egg Bowl victory that seemingly allowed him to stay for the 2020 season.

That decision by the Mississippi State administration may be paying off on the recruiting trail, as the Bulldogs secured a commitment from their backyard on Friday.

Class of 2021 running back Amariyon Howard out of Starkville announced his commitment on Twitter, thanking Mississippi State for allowing him to “stay home and play for my city”.

Howard is a three-star prospect, per 247 Sports.

Moorhead celebrated the get on his Twitter before Howard fired off that tweet.
