Mississippi State won the latest Egg Bowl in Oxford and may not be done taking from Ole Miss just yet, as the Bulldogs are heavily pursuing four-star in-state athlete, and Ole Miss commit, D.D. Bowie.

The 2017 U.S. Army All-American posted this photo Thursday, showing the eight Mississippi State coaches that came to see him at his Morton High School before the dead period begins. The MSU staff recently did the same thing with current running back commit Kylin Hill this week.

Losing out on Bowie would be a tremendous loss for the Rebels, who currently have only one four-star prospect committed to the current 2017 class outside of Bowie. In fact, Ole Miss’ class ranks outside the Top 50 overall classes. Bowie ranks as the No. 3 prospect in Mississippi and a Top 120 national recruit by 247Sports.

There may be a good reason for Mississippi State to chase after Bowie so fervently, as the elite Mississippi prospect has been very soft with his commitment to the Rebels and appears to have his mind made up on his recruitment.

If Bowie does indeed flip to the Bulldogs, Mississippi State will not only have won the biggest game in the state but potentially the biggest recruiting battle inside the Magnolia State, too.
