Mississippi State’s most prominent returning playmaker on offense has been cleared to play according to his position coach, Billy Gonzales.

Ross missed spring practice after having surgery on a groin issue. Earlier this month he revealed that the injury bothered him throughout the 2015 season, so it’s not surprising that the Bulldogs want to be cautious in bringing him back.

As a junior, Ross led MSU with 88 catches for 1,007 yards and five touchdowns – despite the injury.

Earlier Monday he was named to ESPN’s preseason All-SEC team.
