For as long as Mississippi State puts off making a decision on five-star signee Jeffery Simmons, Bulldogs coach Dan Mullen will face questions about the incident.

Simmons, who is a member of the Bulldogs 2016 recruiting class, faces charges after a video of him allegedly striking a woman emerged.

On Saturday, Mullen was asked to again address Simmons’ status with the program and university following the Bulldogs’ first scrimmage of the spring.

The answer he gave Bulldogs beat writer Michael Bonner was not exactly one with swift and decisive action in mind:

“I’ll let you know. We’re going to evaluate it,” Mullen said after MSU’s scrimmage Saturday . “I don’t expect anything anytime in the near future.”

Bonner reports that Mullen said “a lot of people” will be involved in the decision-making process on any potential punishment levied by the university.

While Mullen may still be in the fact-gathering stage of the process, it is worth noting that he has the authority and ability to make a decision on a dismissal from the team at any time.
