Mississippi State’s momentum on the recruiting trail continues to progress as the Bulldogs just landed commitment No. 11 for the 2021 recruiting cycle as Florida native Myzel Williams announced his pledge to join Mike Leach’s program on Monday.

Williams commits to Mississippi State over finalists South Carolina, Cal, Louisville and NC State.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Deltona, Fla., native plays quarterback and defensive back for Deland High School and helped his team reach the 8A Florida state playoffs last season.

In Starkville, Williams projects to play on the defensive side of the ball as he is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 103 safety prospect in the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Mississippi State’s current recruiting class ranks No. 10 in the SEC and top 40 nationally.

The Florida native made tons of plays on both sides of the ball last season for Deland High School and has a real knack for making big plays once the ball is in his hands. Based on his junior season highlight reel, he’s not afraid to lower his head and deliver a punishing blow to opponents, either.
