Nick Fitzgerald thanks fans for support following devastating ankle injury
The Mississippi State Bulldogs suffered a huge loss in the first quarter of Thursday’s Egg Bowl when star QB Nick Fitzgerald went down with a dislocated ankle.
Now, the Bulldogs will be without the dual-threat quarterback for their upcoming bowl game, making things that much harder on the team.
However, Fitzgerald is going to try to be ready for spring practices, which would be good news for the Bulldogs. On Saturday morning, Fitzgerald took to Twitter to express his thanks for the support he’s received from fans in the days following his injury and surgery:
I am truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and prayers sent my way in the past 36 hours. So thankful for anyone that has reached out to my family and I. I promise I will be back stronger and better than ever! It’s only up from here! #HaiIState

It was an ugly looking injury that Fitzgerald suffered, but it is good to hear that surgery went well and he’s already planning his return to the field.
The Bulldogs will need him once again in 2018, and if he’s up to the task, it could be another special season in Starkville.
