Dak Prescott’s NFL stock is officially trending upward.
The former Mississippi State QB won the Most Outstanding Player award for his performance in Saturday’s Senior Bowl.

He threw the only touchdown pass of the day for the South during a 27-16 win:

His final stat line was 7 for 10 passing for 61 yards and a touchdown. He also carried the ball three times for 13 yards.
We broke down his two-minute drill drive for a touchdown here.
Former Arkansas QB Brandon Allen also was 7 for 10 with 106 yards passing.
Great to see.
He should have been named the most outstanding player in college football for the past two years in a row.
Well… Most outstanding quarterback at least…
Football is a team game, so the discussion is a bad exercise but: Both Fournette and Prescott were season makers for LSU/Miss State. Here are some mental exercises. Play Fournette on the MS-S 15 schedule, and play Prescott on the LSU 15 schedule… whose season improves the most? OR take them both out of football for 15, which team’s performance drops the farthest? Athletically which athlete brought the widest range of skills/fitness/mental/tactics ? Which one would have been the rarest to replace? Which one was the most likely to look like a star because of his team’s support? I submit that when you do these exercises with all the college athletes of 2015, Prescott comes out on top. At the same time I feel that LSU bloggers here generally have some well supported opinions.
Most outstanding QB, I think. Most outstanding player opens a can of worms I’m not qualified to dig through.
^this^
I think LSU probably would have had the same W-L record without Fournette. They would have played Guice and Williams more, but the results would have been similar. Guice actually averaged more yards per carry than Fournette, albeit often in cleanup duty. As much as I like Fournette, I have to admit that the RB position is overrated. QB is much more important to the team. Dak Prescott would get my vote for MVP.
