The Mississippi State Bulldogs will have a couple of openings on their roster heading into the 2020-21 season, and it appears coach Ben Howland is considering adding a transfer to the mix.

According to recruiting insider Jake Weingarten, Mississippi State has reached out to Gabe Watson, a transferring guard from Southern Miss.

Per Weingarten, Watson has 2 years of eligibility remaining:

As of now, Watson has also reportedly heard from Maryland, Marquette, Georgetown, Colorado State, Tulane, Tulsa and San Diego. Watson will likely have to sit out the 2020-21 season before being eligible for the 2021-22 campaign.

Watson appeared in 31 games for Southern Miss last season, starting 29 of them. He averaged 13.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1 steal per contest.
