Heading into the 2018 season, plenty of people are high on the Mississippi State Bulldogs, who have a new coach in Joe Moorhead.

Consider SEC Network analyst Chris Doering to be on that bandwagon, as he thinks the Bulldogs will have a fantastic year.

During a segment on SEC Now, which you can see here, Doering says he thinks Mississippi State will go 11-1 this season.

“That’s my surprise team,” he says. “I went through the schedule predictor and I have them going 11-1, with their only loss being to Alabama. That could give them an opportunity to be in the mix (for the College Football Playoff), depending on how things shake out.”

As far as the Playoff goes, Alabama made the field of four last year without making it to the SEC Championship Game. Perhaps that’s a model the Bulldogs can follow in 2018.
