There are plenty of historic venues in the SEC that inspire awe upon entry. Most of the stadiums from the league are on every true college football die-hards list to visit at some point. According to Mississippi State’s Nick Fitzgerald, if Kroger Field isn’t on your list already, you may want to consider adding it.

During his recent appearance on the Saturday Down South Podcast, Fitzgerald was asked which stadium he enjoys visiting the most in the SEC. According to the Hail State QB, the building formerly known as Commonwealth Stadium ranked No. 1 in his eyes.

“I think Commonwealth Stadium (recently renamed Kroger Field) is a pretty cool place to play in,” Fitzgerald said.

After being stunned by that answer, host Matt Hayes asked him why Kentucky’s Stadium was at the top of his list.

“When we went there and played, the weather was perfect, the field was really well taken care of, the stadium was a cool environment in there,” Fitzgerald explained. “I also really liked playing at BYU, that was pretty cool, too — they aren’t in the SEC though.”

Despite the Bulldogs misfortune in Lexington last season, Mississippi State lost the game 40-38 on a late game field goal by the Wildcats, it’s interesting to know that one of the best experiences in a league full of fantastic atmospheres may reside at Kentucky.
